FAQ
Straight answers.
How is an MVP in 4 weeks real?
The build runs on a published pipeline of 1,500+ skills and 200+ agents, with the scope fixed in a signed one-pager before kickoff. Every build passes plan review, design review, security review, QA on a real browser, and a canary release. The 4 weeks go to building, not to renegotiating what gets built.
Who owns the code?
You do. 100% of the code and IP transfers to you on final payment. No license-back, no lock-in, no dependence on Softran to keep it running.
What stack do you build on?
Next.js, Supabase Postgres with RLS default-deny, Drizzle, tRPC, Stripe, Vercel, and Sentry. A standard stack means any senior engineer you hire later picks it up on day one.
Do you take equity?
No. Softran charges fixed fees and never trades services for equity. Your cap table stays yours.
What if scope changes mid-build?
Scope changes go through a signed change order, priced, never free. The scope one-pager you sign before kickoff defines what ships, and that discipline is what holds the timeline.
What happens after launch?
Every build carries a 14-day post-launch fix window. After that you own the code and the infrastructure outright, so you can run it yourself, hire against the standard stack, or move to a Scale retainer.
Do you work with non-US founders?
Yes. The cadence is one 60-minute decision call each week plus asynchronous updates, and that works from any time zone. Contracts run through Softran.
Should Softran build it for me, or set my team up to build it?
Build it for me is a Softran build, and it starts on the pricing page. Set my team up is Production Harness, the open pipeline these builds run on, sold as our AI Systems line.
How much of my time does the build need each week?
One 60-minute decision call each week, plus quick asynchronous replies when a call needs a ruling between sessions. You own the decisions. Softran owns the building. The scope one-pager you sign before kickoff settles most questions in advance, so the weekly call stays short and focused on what ships next.
Can you work with an existing codebase?
Yes, through the Scale line. Softran handles v1 to v2 rebuilds, platform engineering, API work and integrations, and rescue projects for stalled builds. If you have a product that works but does not scale, or a v1 that needs a rebuild, that is the Scale line, not a fresh MVP.
Can you build a mobile app?
Yes, at the Platform tier. Native app store builds sit in Platform, alongside multi-role products and complex integrations. Below Platform, native app store builds are out of scope, so a mobile app is a Platform build, not a Starter or Standard one. Scope is fixed in a one-pager signed before kickoff.
How does payment work?
Most builds are 50% on signature and 50% on delivery. Validation and Starter are 100% on signature, since a one to two week engagement does not earn two invoices. There is no net-60 and no hourly billing. The full price is fixed in the scope one-pager before the build starts.
Will you publish my build?
Your build is yours. You own 100% of the code and IP on final payment. The Work page fills only with case studies from founding clients, who agree to it in their signed engagement, and it stays empty until those builds are real.
Do you sign NDAs?
Ask and Softran signs a mutual NDA before the scoping call. Your idea and your brief stay yours. You own 100% of the code on final payment, and intake answers are never used to train AI models.
